Memo to:         Hispanic High School Seniors and All Parents and/or Guardians 

Congratulations Seniors for making it this far! 

The Hispanic Seniors Recognition Banquet Committee is underway making preparations for the banquet on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 12:00 noon at the Abilene Civic Center.  This is the community’s way of honoring you the graduate and recognizing you for your achievements of making it through high school.  This committee exists only for you. 

The banquet is FREE for all graduating seniors and/or graduating juniors.  You and your family have been cordially invited to attend this banquet in your honor.  Seniors, your special invitation will allow you free admittance to the banquet. This banquet is opened for all graduating seniors and their families and friends. Family members are greatly encouraged to attend. The cost for families and friends is $15.00 each.    Please make arrangements with your family/employers, etc. to have time off for this special event.  It will be a great time of celebration to be with your family and your friends.   

Scholarships will be awarded at the banquet.  The Committee’s primary goal is to work hard to obtain funds for scholarships.  Several Hispanic organizations will be awarding scholarships.  Please check with these organizations and submit your applications on a timely basis.   Our committee (HSRB) will also be awarding scholarships and will be presenting them at the banquet.    

We are also looking for seniors who would like to show off their special talents (singing, dancing, play a musical instrument, perform a skit, etc.) during the banquet program.  Please advise one of the committee members if you are interested.
